What a great way to start the new wedding season with a destination wedding! This year I had the pleasure to capture Mark and Janneke’s wedding in Austria, specifically in the mountains of Brixen im Thale in Tirol. They wanted to get married outside of the Netherlands and in the mountains somewhere preferably with snow. Luckily for them that two weeks before they arrived for their wedding, a huge snow storm passed through covering the landscape with a white blanket of snow.
It was cold that day, -20 deg C (-4 deg F). Yup that’s cold. It started off very cold in the morning but warmed up in the middle of the day. Blue sky and sun is just what they ordered and you couldn’t have asked for a more perfect winter day. After getting dressed at Haus Tirol, Mark and Janneke along with their two children headed up the ski lift to the top of the mountain for a fun photoshoot. They then hopped on a snowmobile and arrived at their ceremony venue, a wooden cabin surrounded by picturesque views. Afterwards, it was cake and champagne and basking in the warm sun. As the sun set, we headed down the mountain where we headed back to the lodge for some hot chocolate and a great dinner at Thalhof restaurant.
A special thanks to the awesome wedding planners Charlotte and Kristel who made it all happen: TrouweninOostenrijk.nl
