I can totally get used to these destination weddings! Charles and Gerrianne had their wedding in the beautiful Spanish countryside just outside of Madrid. The wedding venue was a large house with swimming pool, tents outside for the guests to spend the night, and hiking trails around the surrounding mountains. This is the place to be if you want to get away. Here you can unwind, relax and take in the pristine nature.
I met Charles and Gerrianne the summer prior at another wedding I photographed for one of their friends and we instantly bonded. So when they asked me if I could shoot their wedding in Spain, I was stoked. I knew their wedding was going to be fun and relaxed and I wanted to capture it all.
Their wedding took place end of summer and the weather was still hot and humid, perfect pool weather! That’s how the day began. Charles and Gerrianne and all their guests chilled at the pool the first half of the day before getting ready for the ceremony late in the afternoon. As the sun hid behind the mountains, the day became much cooler which allowed for a pleasing outdoor ceremony. The day continued with a cocktail hour and lounge music playing in the background. Just before dinner, Charles and Gerrianne managed to sneak away up the mountain to catch the last light before dusk. The boulder rocks provided some spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. We then headed back in time for dinner and a wild party! Yes…it was wild. Here is the day in nutshell. 😉
