Capturing two people in love is what I do and I love it…and even more so when I know the couple very well. Daniëlle is my cousin-in-law so it was like hanging out with family on a fun day. The weather was perfect and we had plenty of great opportunities to do some outdoor photos before the ceremony.
I arrived early at the 12th century medieval castle, Kasteel Tongelaar, in the south of Holland to find Sander and Daniëlle getting ready, each in separate rooms. Sander’s friends helped him get dressed while Daniëlle’s sisters and mother helped her with the dress and shoes. Her father walked in to see her for the first time in her dress and it almost brought him to tears. Meanwhile Sander was finishing his last minute touches and sat down to read a letter she had written him. Lots of emotions on this day! Sander stood outside anxiously waiting for his bride to arrive. And once she did, the first look was magical. They took a walk around the castle to enjoy some time together before heading back for the ceremony. Afterwards, it was drinks, laughter and a heck of a party!
