Stefano contacted me back in early 2017 for a photoshoot that he and his girlfriend Amanda both wanted to do in the Netherlands during the tulip season. Both Stefano and Amanda are acrobats and certified acroyoga teachers in the U.S. They had planned to do some acrobatic poses out in the tulip fields to celebrate their second anniversary of the first time they met. Except…there was one little secret. Stefano was planning to propose to Amanda during the photoshoot. So naturally this was going to be an exciting moment and one that I was anxiously waiting to capture. The plan went perfect as Stefano got on his knee amongst the flower fields and Amanda said yes. And so the wedding planning began! (*Scroll down to the last photo to see her reaction).
To say that I was excited for their wedding would be an understatement. I already knew them and I felt like I was capturing a friend’s wedding. I had already captured one special moment in their life the year before and I was ready for the next one. Stefano and Amanda got married at the 18th-century Hacienda de San Rafael, a once thriving olive estate turned luxury retreat out in the countryside near Seville, Spain. Stefano is originally from Italy and Amanda from the U.S. so this venue was a perfect place to have a destination wedding where everyone can travel and vacation. The ceremony took place in the center courtyard surrounded by vibrant bougainvillea flowers and accompanied by a guitarist. The cocktail hour soon followed in the gardens overlooking the endless views of the Andalusian plains. As the sun set, Stefano and Amanda took some time to themselves and wandered off in the olive and almond groves scattered throughout before heading back for dinner and a wild party!
Looking forward to their vow renewal in 10 years! 😛
