Michelle and Han decided to visit the Netherlands during spring time. Spring in Holland means nice weather with lots of flowers and cherry blossoms alike. As they had both never been to Holland, they wanted to include both the bustling city of Amsterdam as well as the unique windmill village of Zaanse Schans in their European prewedding session.
Zaanse Schans & Amsterdam pre wedding
We started this overseas prewedding shoot at the canals of Amsterdam, the capital of Holland. With their matching outfits, jokes and goofy attitude it was a lot of fun to capture their prewedding session in Amsterdam. The city of Amsterdam is known for its canals with beautiful bridges, so we just started wandering through the streets, looking for some beautiful backdrops with the typical houses Amsterdam is world renowned for. The merchant houses from the 16th century are very well preserved and can instantly be recognized as the prime example of Dutch architecture.
After some fun in the city, it was time to head over to the windmill village called ‘de Zaanse Schans‘. With the historic and beautifully restored windmills and the typical green wooden houses, this place is like an outdoor museum, creating the illusion that you’ve stepped into a village from the 18th-century. Besides the windmills and traditional houses, there are also many artisanal shops to buy chocolate, other Dutch treats and you can even see how the typical wooden shoes are made.
As Michelle and Han changed from their casual streetwear of the Amsterdam prewedding session into beautiful wedding outfits, it was time to capture them in front of these beautiful windmills. As the sun set, we got some very nice photos with very few tourists.
