Europe is known all over the world as the continent that has it all. From the historial buildings in Paris, the culture in Rome and the natural beauty in France, there’s so much to see and plenty to choose from for a prewedding photoshoot.
Some of the the most popular tourist destination countries of Europe include France, Spain, Italy, Greece and Switzerland although lesser visited countries such as the Netherlands, Portugal, Iceland and the Czech Republic are equally beautiful. What makes Europe so unique is the proximity of all its countries, making it easy to cover multiple countries in one visit. It is for this reason that Europe is a very popular destination for many prewedding couples from all over the world, wanting to capture their love in one (or more) of the many beautiful places Europe has to offer.
Cheata and Tek has two very iconic cities in mind for their destination prewedding in Europe: Amsterdam and Prague.
I met Cheata and Tek early in the morning in Amsterdam before the big crowds normally arrive. We started the prewedding shoot off at the iconic Dam Square in the middle of Amsterdam for some fun shots with both of them wearing formal wedding attire. We then slowly made our way over to the canals that Amsterdam and the rest of the Netherlands are know for. Cheata was wearing a beautiful dress that matched the colorful surroundings and even picked up a bouquet of flowers on the way. Tek wore a very elegant suit to match her outfit. They truly looked stunning and were drawing a lot of attention from bypassing tourists and locals. As we continued to make our way tthrough the iconic cobble stoned streets and beautiful houses for some more shots, it was time to get ready for the second location of their prewedding shoot in the Netherlands: The windmill village of ‘Zaanse Schans’, about a 20 minute drive outside Amsterdam.
This very Dutch village is the perfect place to learn more about the way people used to live in Holland. It has several colorful windmills lined up along a river and even an authentic village where you can experience Dutch architecture. Zaanse Schans is a very popular destination for tourists from all over the world and it’s no wonder Cheata and Tek wanted to include this place in their prewedding photos. After they did a quick outfit change into some fun pastel attire, we took a stroll along the windmills and into the village. With a beautiful sunset we finished off the first part of their European prewedding photography.
After our fun photoshoot in Amsterdam, I met Cheata and Tek a couple of days later in the capital of the Czech Republic: Prague. This beautiful old city in Central Europe attracts millions of visitors each year and it’s not hard to see why. It’s equally beautiful as Paris and has a lot of history and character. Famous to Prague is the Charles Bridge. This ancient bridge is full of people during the day, so we decided to get up before sunrise to take advantage of the bridge being empty. Walking around Prague this early in the day made the city even more enchanting. As we walked along the river and crossed into the old town, we ended up at the famous old town square. This quare is one of Europe’s biggest and most beautiful urban spaces, and it has been Prague’s main public square since the 10th century! The square is also home to the stunning Astronomical Clock which is now the world’s oldest functioning clock.
As we left the town square behind us we walked over to the final stop of our prewedding shoot in Prague: the Prague Castle. This stonghold is the largest ancient castle complex worldwide and it boasts multiple palaces and buildings. Additionally, the views over the river and old city from the palace are breathtaking.
It was time to say goodbye to Cheata and Tek as they were heading back to Cambodia to prepare for their wedding. Until we meet again!
