What a great way to start the new year…in Miami! That’s right, my hometown. But what’s better is that I was asked to shoot the wedding of one of my old friends from school!
We go waaaaay back. Maria and I went to the University of Miami 15 years ago and have many great memories working together on campus. So when she contacted me wanting to know if I would fly all the way from Holland to Miami to capture her big day, I said of course! So I packed my stuff and off I went!
The wedding took place at the beautiful Palms Hotel & Spa in Miami Beach on a sunny January day (best time to get married in Miami!). I got to meet Adam and his daughters for the first time and they were just as fun as Maria, so I knew this was special. The ceremony was held outdoors in a white gazebo surrounded by large palm trees not too far from the beach. They tied the knot and had their first dance as their friends and family watched with big smiles, followed by a surprise song sung by Adam’s daughter.
Lunch time came…fried chicken and waffles! You can’t get better than that! After all the dancing and eating, it was time to chill on the beach. Adam and Maria kicked off their shoes and headed to the beach for some fun photos! Afterwards, everyone got into their bathing suits and finished off the day basking in the sun! Only in Miami!
