Great way to start the wedding season! I was back at the enchanting Kasteel Wijenburg for a spring wedding and with a great looking couple like Abigail and Michael, I couldn’t have asked for more! Abigail and Michael are fun to chat with. Michael is also a photographer and having an interest in wedding photography meant I had a real fan, ha!
They both live in Australia but are originally Dutch. So they decided to get married back in their home country together with their friends and family. They chose Kasteel Wijenburg, a 12th century castle tucked away in the Dutch countryside and surrounded by nature.
The day was like most days in May in the Netherlands, some sun and blue sky. After getting dressed at the castle, Abigail and Michael walked in opposite directions around the castle for the first look. As Michael saw Abigail for the first time in her stunning dress, it was hard to hold back the tears. The moment was special and kicked off what would be a special day.
We continued on with a photoshoot in the surrounding area along the orchards and gardens of the castle and finished off in the interior part of the castle. After the photoshoot, they got married in one of the castle’s halls, followed by a relaxing outdoors cocktail hour. In short: just a fun day to photograph, especially when the bride is tossed in the air!
